Seattle Group Passing Out Free Crack Pipes. Claiming It Will Help Stop The Spread Of HIV

A non profit group in Seattle, Washington called the People’s Harm Reduction Alliance is handing out free crack pipes.

The group claims it’s doing this to help prevent the spread of the HIV virus that causes AIDS.

“Someone who contracts HIV that doesn’t have insurance is going to cost [the state] a little under half a million dollars.. Our entire program, for the entire year is half that,” said Shilo Murphy of PHRA.

Local residents think the idea is ridiculous and will cause more harm than good.

“I think giving out crack pipes is definitely crossing the line,” said one resident.
